Bethany's Music Ministries
Bethany supports a series of scholarships for local string students to help enrich the cultural and spiritual lives of the surrounding community. These students receive money to help with expenses related to their music education, and are additionally given an opportunity to play in worship, as an ensemble and often with our choir, a few times a year.
Bethany owns about a dozen Makala Dolphin ukuleles that are used with the SundaySchool and as a step toward getting kids interested in larger fretted instruments down the line. Additionally, an adult group meets at Toad's Coffee often on the first and third Wednesdays of the month to play ukuleles together and (very occasionally) play in worship.
Children and youth can be involved in music in worship in a number of ways. Children are exposed to music in the church through Sunday School on a regular basis. For more in-depth involvement, there is also a Weeknight Music program that meets during the week to work on a variety of music for worship. We do everything from a youth praise band to organ and chant.
Choir & Bells
The choir and bell choir meet on Wednesday evenings for rehearsal and bring beauty to worship with their talents. These groups are not auditioned, but do require a significant commitment of time for a few months of the year. If you are interested in joining please talk to the Director of Music.
