The ukulele club meets at Toad's Coffee (on Grand Avenue in downtown Spencer) almost every Wednesday night from about 8:00pm to 9:30pm, and usually leads the 11:00am worship service on the second Sunday of each month. We also play around town, in nursing homes, at Arts on Grand and at the Clay County Fair. Visitors are always welcome, and Stephen has extra ukuleles with him for you to try!
Children and youth can be involved in music in worship in a number of ways. Children are exposed to music in the church through Sunday School on a regular basis. For more in-depth involvement, there is also a Weeknight Music program that meets during the week to work on a variety of music for worship. We do everything from a youth praise band to organ and chant.
Choir & Bells
The choir and bell choir meet on Wednesday evenings for rehearsal and bring beauty to worship with their talents. These groups are not auditioned, but do require a significant commitment of time for a few months of the year. If you are interested in joining please talk to the Director of Music.
There are lots of ways to get involved with the music ministry at Bethany. Whether you sing or play an instrument, are a seasoned musician or can't read a lick of music, we have a place for you in our ministry. To see what opportunities are available, pick up a seasonal music ministry schedule at Bethany's Welcome Center, or contact Stephen Baker at firstname.lastname@example.org.
